Greetings fellow 443 Nassau Street residents!
Now spring is just about here, its time to give you an update on what is happening at 443 Nassau Street.
Reserve Fund Projects
- Privacy Fences- Except for some landscaping to be completed this spring, with the installation of the privacy fences between each unit the back yard project is now complete. As a reminder, the following rules apply to the maintenance and use of the decks and privacy fences:
- Owners are not permitted to paint, stain or treat the surface of the decks, front patios, railings or privacy fences/screens. The property manager/board is responsible to arrange ongoing maintenance.
- Items such as plant holders, hooks, décor, bicycle racks and gardening tools may not be affixed to deck railings, privacy fences/screens or exterior walls of the units.
- In addition, to facilitate grass cutting, any gardens in the back of units are not to extend beyond the privacy fence.
- Window Replacement- The board reviewed the quotes received and interviewed the contending vendors. The selected vendor is Tiffin Home Improvement.
- This project will be divided into two phases:
- Phase 1- replacement of the large front window to take place this summer (2017)
- Phase 2- replacement of the smaller windows to be determined
-
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) at the end of the newsletter for more details related to Phase 1.
Landscaping
Buchanan Expert Tree Care conducted an assessment of the trees on our property. The good news is that most of the larger trees are healthy. He noted some trees that should be removed- two cherry and one oak toward the back of the property by Unit 13 and one cherry along the fence line behind Unit 22. The quote to complete this work will be reviewed by the board and work will be completed in due course.
The board requested trimming of some tree branches behind Units 6-12 and from the Blue Spruce in the parkette. This work has been completed.
